Elite Volleyball

Pedigree
From winning its first National Cup in 1987 the next 20 years saw the men’s team win 20 National League Division 1 titles and 13 National Cups.  The Women’s team first tasted national success in 1990 and have amassed 12 National League Division 1 titles and 10 National Cup wins.  In addition, both teams have won numerous Super Cups, British Club Championships and international Club tournaments.  This level of success came from total commitment to training and the desire to be the best teams in the country.

Growth
The teams are very proud of the fact that they have attracted and developed some of the country's most talented volleyball athletes over the years that have gone onto play for the National Team and numerous professional clubs overseas.  This level of sustained national achievement is unrivalled in the history of English and British Volleyball and whilst being by far the most successful teams in the country, maintaining this level is always a challenge and as such we have entered into a new development phase.  Over the next few years we will be attracting high calibre experienced players from the UK and overseas and concentrating on developing talent from the local area as a key aspect to the future success of the teams.

Our aim is to maintain our competitive level and to continue to strive for success in the National League and Cup competitions.  This is a key objective for the Club in order to seamlessly integrate the development programme for the next generation of elite volleyball players to continue the success of the club.  This transition phase will enable the club to continue with its competitive edge whilst it develops the next group of talented volleyball athletes to be the champions of the future and go on to have successful volleyball careers.
